The Scandiano-based company has finalised the purchase of 52% of the capital of the brand
specialising in industrial vision systems
Scandiano (Reggio Emilia), April 2024 - The BMR family grows bigger: the Scandiano-based company acquires a 52 per cent stake in Italvision. In this way, BMR integrates know-how of excellence into its structure and offering: for over 20 years, Italvision has been an industry leader in the design of systems for quality control and production processes using machine vision systems. Italvision's substantial technology, initially created for production and quality control in the ceramics sector, is now being exported to other sectors, particularly the food industry, thanks to continuous research and development.
The integration will enable both brands to be even more effective in offering their customers integrated ceramic finishing solutions provided with state-of-the-art machine vision systems. A quality response to the new trends that are gradually emerging in the manufacturing sectors: servitisation and artificial intelligence.
The two companies, which have been collaborating for years on specific projects for various ceramic companies around the world, are also neighbours, being both from Scandiano.
This is a further step in the context of SACMI's strategy (which acquired 100% of BMR in 2023) to enhance and complete the Tile offering.
"Italvision is a very interesting company that has been a reference point in the machinery vision systems segment for years," says Paolo Mongardi, CEO of SACMI and BMR. This acquisition increases our digital know-how and we are looking forward to reinforcing collaborations and initiating new synergies between the various group brands, to be increasingly more competitive”.
"This acquisition will allow us, among other things, to combine Italvision products with those of Surface Inspection," emphasises Giovanni Lancieri, Managing Director of BMR, "with a unique range of intelligent vision systems".
“This is a big and exciting step for Italvision,” says Italvision CEO Marco Capponi. Becoming part of the SACMI galaxy is an opportunity that will put us in a position to become an increasingly strong global player. We look forward to growing together with the Group's other brands, which will also allow us to make a name for ourselves in industrial sectors that we have not explored so far.”
